SPARK MOVEMENT: A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM RETURNS TO CRYSTAL CITY

Synetic Theater presents popular production for a limited release

from July 15 through August 9, 2015

Crystal City (Arlington, VA) - Synetic Theater continues its 2015/16 Season by reviving their rendition of William Shakespeare’s classic A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Paata Tsikurishvili.

Synetic remounts their playful adaptation of Shakespeare’s timeless comedy with a trademark movement-based visual storytelling. This fantastical, darkly playful game of love, mistaken identity, and the supernatural was honored with nine Helen Hayes Award Nominations when it was first produced in 2010, taking home the award for Outstanding Ensemble and Outstanding Resident Play. Since then, the production has been remounted numerous times to great acclaim and toured Mexico for the 2014 Festival Internacional.

“As one of the world’s leading physical theater companies, Synetic’s Silent Shakespeare brings this time-honored favorite to new life with signature bravado and dramatic physicality,” said Crystal City BID President/CEO Angela Fox. “We look forward to seeing A Midsummer Night’s Dream return to the Crystal City stage this summer.”
