Retail Market
Increasing Retail Diversification
As one of the region's largest retail destinations and burgeoning dining scenes, National Landing offers a dynamic mix of shopping and dining experiences across 23rd Street’s Restaurant Row, Metropolitan Park, Pentagon Centre, Westpost, Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, Water Park, and the Crystal Drive corridor. Together, these destinations are home to a diverse mix of local, minority- and women-owned businesses and attract well over 2 million visitors each quarter.
With recent and anticipated openings, National Landing’s retail offerings include more neighborhood serving establishments, including food and beverage, personal service, entertainment, and experiential retail. National Landing welcomed nearly 30 new business in 2025, 15 so far this year, and anticipates several new openings in the coming months. Worth celebrating is Falafel Inc.'s major milestone of transitioning to a brick-and-mortar space from its Water Park kiosk where it was able to test the National Landing market with less risk to its new location on 23rd Street.
